EPPO Reporting Service (2016/213) : X. fastidiosa subsp. fastidiosa detected for the first time in 3 samples collected from sweet cherry (Prunus avium) in a garden centre in Porto Cristo (municipality of Manacor) on the island of Mallorca. Under eradication.
EPPO Reporting Service (2017/083) : found in other localities of Mallorca, as well as in other islands of the archipelago (Ibiza, Formentera, and Menorca). Under official control.

As of 2018-10, 740 positive plants have been detected in Islas Baleares: 427 in Mallorca, 194 in Ibiza and 119 in Menorca. Since December 2017, a containment strategy has been adopted in Islas Baleares.
