Pest status declared by NPPO: Present, only in some parts of the Member State concerned, under eradication (2023-01)
Comments
EPPO Reporting Service (2019/017) : Xylella fastidiosa subsp. multiplex was first found in December 2018 on lavender plants (in a zoo garden) in the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia (near Porto). Under eradication.

EPPO Reporting Service (2022/064) : in 2021, as a result of official surveillance, X. fastidiosa was found in 2021 in the Algarve region and near Lisbon. Under eradication.

EPPO Reporting Service (2023/015) : new outbreaks detected for the first time in the region Centro, and additional outbreaks in regions Norte, and Lisboa e Vale do Tejo. In particular, an outbreak has been detected for the first time on several citrus species in the region Norte. The outbreak in Algarve has been successfully eradicated, the others are under eradication.
