EPPO Reporting Service (1995/11) : the situation of Ralstonia solanacearum in Spain was previously described (e.g. in Quarantine Pests for Europe) as "Found and eradicated in mainland Spain, but occurs in Islas Canárias". This is mistaken. The Spanish Plant Protection Service reports that R. solanacearum has never been found on the mainland, and has been eradicated from Islas Canárias. It was detected in 1981, but only in Las Palmas, on potatoes grown from imported seed. The disease was eradicated from the affected plot.

EPPO Reporting Service (1997/131) : several cases found on stored seed and ware potatoes in 1996, in Castilla y León. Quarantine measures taken in fields where they were grown. However, no cases directly detected in potato fields, waterways or wild hosts. No cases found in seed potatoes imported from other EU countries.

1998: disease now considered to be of "restricted distribution" in Isla de La Palma. The records in mainland Spain are classified as interceptions.

EPPO Reporting Service (2001/142) : declared absent from Comunidad Valenciana, Islas Baleares, Islas Canarias, Castilla y León.

EPPO Reporting Service (2005/050) : 1 outbreak on tomato in Granada province (Andalucía), a few positive potato samples in Castilla y León, one potato store in País Vasco. Official control.

EPPO Reporting Service (2007/137) : a few positive samples in Castilla y León.

EPPO Reporting Service (2010/084) : Castilla y Léon (6 positive samples on ware potatoes).

EPPO Reporting Service (2016/203) : Castilla-La Mancha (in water samples).
