Ralstonia solanacearum species complex(RALSSO)
Distribution details in Pakistan
EPPO Reporting Service (1997/203) : identified from wilted potatoes and their tubers in Utror, Miandam, Bajna abd Kalam valley.

------- First reported from Pakistan in 1989 (Geddes, 1989). National survey of chilli production (2014-15) showed an average of 10% incidence of wilt detected in 76% of fields inspected. Maximum disease incidence of 16.4% recorded in Sindh province followed by Punjab (11.4%), Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa (7%) and Baluchistan (4.5%). Prevalence ranged between 5% and 19.5% with maximum prevalence in Indus delta and minimum in Western dry mountains. Isolates identified as biovar 3 (81%) and biovar 4 (19%) were probably R. pseudosolanacearum [phylotype I].

------- Surveys in different vegetable growing areas of Pakistan (during April-September 2008-09) showed overal bacterial wilt incidence of 21.9% in sweet pepper, 16.6% in chilli, 13.3% in tomato, 105% in potato and 5.5% in eggplant. Mainly distributed in Islamabad Capital Territory and Punjab with incidences of 19.2% and 13.9% respectively. 80% of isolates identified as biovar 3 (probably R. pseudosolanacearum [phylotype I] and 20% as biovar 2. Biovar 2 isolates predominant in potato, mostly in the Northern territory. Other hosts were mainly affected by biovar 3

------- R. solanacearum sensu lato confirmed in commercial tomato crops in 26 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of North West Pakistan.
