EPPO Reporting Service (2004/045) : in 1998, reported not to have been found in seed potato stocks for 10 years. Confirmed by surveys in Alaska, California, Colorado, Idaho, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Washington, Wisconsin.

EPPO Reporting Service (2011/154) : first record of a natural infection in tomatoes in the USA (detected in California).

EPPO Reporting Service (2013/087) : a natural infection in tomatoes detected 1 glasshouse in North Carolina. The earlier case in California has been eradicated.

EPPO Reporting Service (2014/015) : as of December 2013, PSTVd has been eradicated in all potato-producing states. Isolated outbreaks detected in glasshouse tomatoes (see above) have also been eradicated.

EPPO Reporting Service (2017/144) : intercepted by the UK on a consignment of capsicum seeds from USA (interception).
