EPPO Reporting Service (2001/087) : first found in 2001 on glasshouse tomatoes in the south of Sardegna. According to Tiberini et al. (2010), this initial outbreak was successfully eradicated.
EPPO Reporting Service (2005/072) : specific surveys show that PEPMV is confirmed absent from Emilia-Romagna region.
EPPO Reporting Service (2007/080) : on glasshouse tomatoes in Ragusa province (Sicilia).
According to the NPPO: official surveys carried out in 2009 detected PePMV in tomato fruit production in Sicilia (5 outbreaks) and Sardegna (1 outbreak). Confirmed by Tiberini et al. (2010).
