Appears in the new 1992 regulations as a quarantine pest of limited distribution in Russia.
According to Khutti et al. (2009), in 2006 S. endobioticum was recorded in 927 locations in 23 regions (covering a total of 1537 ha).
As of 2020-01: present in 9 federal subjects (1175 ha).
