According to Butrymowicz & Sahajdak (2009): in the 1950s, potato wart disease outbreaks were numerous in Poland (65 000 outbreaks recorded) but then only potato varieties resistant to pathotype 1 (D1) were allowed. No new foci caused by this pathotype have been detected in Poland since the early 1960s. In 1961 and 1965, 2 other pathotypes were discovered (2(Ch1) and 3(M1)) in the montaneous parts of Southern Poland. Recent surveys have showed that S. endobioticum is present in: 5 powiats (virulent pathotypes) and in 1 powiat ('old focus' of pathotype 1(D1)).

Przetakiewicz J (2014): pathogype 18(T1) in Mazowieckie region.
Przetakiewicz J (2015): new pathotype 39(P1) in small garden potato plots in the rainy mountainous area.

NPPO (2024): 1 outbreak in Krosno Odrzańskie (Lubuskie region) in ware potatoes detected in 2022. As of 2024 the infested area is 13.14 ha. Under eradication.
