It was first detected in 2009 in a sample of psyllids (Diaphorina citri) collected from the municipality of Tizimin, Yucatan. Huanglongbing was then detected in backyard citrus trees in several municipalities in the states of: Campeche, Colima, Jalisco, Nayarit, Quintana Roo, Sinaloa and Yucatan. Under official control.
