EPPO Reporting Service (1994/216) : first recorded 1951, then becoming a more and more regular immigrant into the Carpathian basin. Reported as a regular pest since 1986 on maize, tobacco and since 1993 on paprika. Sporadic populations develop but cannot survive the winter, so damage is normally limited. Occurred in unusually high numbers in 1993, but none survived the winter to 1994.
EPPO Reporting Service (1995/194) : even more serious outbreaks in 1994. In 1995, spot occurrence in 16 counties (about 99226 ha). On maize, tobacco, sugarbeet, lucerne, potato, vegetables and ornamental plants.
EPPO Reporting Service (1997/089) : no change since 1995.
EPPO Reporting Service (1998/141) : occurred locally in 1997 in 16 counties.
