Euwallacea fornicatus sensu lato(XYLBFO)

Distribution details in Brazil (Amazonas)

Situation
Current pest situation evaluated by EPPO on the basis of information dated 2023: Absent, unreliable record
Comments
EPPO Reporting Service (2017/053) : there is one record (Wood, 2007) of the pest in Manaus (Amazonas), and this isolated record has not been confirmed by other publications.

EPPO Reporting Service (2023/182) : the report in Brazil may be due to an erroneous synonymy of the superficially similar Coptoborus tristiculus (Wood, 1975) with Xyleborus molestulus Wood, 1975, which was recently synonymized with Euwallacea perbrevis (a member of the Euwallacea fornicatus species complex).
