First observed in September 2012 in zucchini (Cucurbita pepo) crops in the province of Murcia. Similar symptoms were also noticed in May 2013 in Almeria province. In autumn 2013, the disease was widespread in zucchini both in Murcia and Almería, and the virus was also detected in melon and cucumber crops, as well as in greenhouse tomato crops.
