EPPO Reporting Service (2009/182) : although the disease was considered as no longer found in 1998 by the NPPO, more recent studies have showed that M. pini has become frequent on Pinus nigra and P. mugo in the continental part of Slovenia (Jurc, 2007).

EPPO Reporting Service (2014/083) : found in symptomatic Pinus samples collected from parks, gardens and a nursery at various locations.
