Comments
From NPPO (2013): symptoms were observed in 2 forests in the communes of Meeuwen-Gruitrode (Limburg province) and Ravels (Antwerpen province) on Pinus nigra subsp. laricio, and the identity of the fungus was confirmed in November 2007. In the following years, symptoms were observed in other forests in these provinces, as well as in Flemish Brabant (but not confirmed by laboratory analyses). In 2008, 1 outbreak was confirmed in the province of Liège (2008) on Pinus nigra subsp. calabrica cv. Koekelaere (all trees were destroyed and the disease was not seen again). In 2011, 1 outbreak was found in the province of Namur on Pinus nigra var. corsicana (no specific measures were applied). Official surveys and measures focus on nurseries.

From NPPO (2019-09): during surveys conducted in the framework of a research project from 2015 to 2018, D. septosporum was detected in most of the area where host plants (Pinus nigra, P. sylvestris and other Pinus species) are grown.
