PPV was first detected in autumn 1999 in Pennsylvania. Intensive surveys are being carried out in the USA, under eradication.
EPPO Reporting Service (2002/020) : still in Pennsylvania, but not found in surveys of New York and Michigan.
EPPO Reporting Service (2006/140) : in July 2006 found in one orchard in New York, and in August 2006 in a single tree at a Research Center in Michigan. Under eradication.
EPPO Reporting Service (2007/124) : strain D, eradication continues.
Declared eradicated from Pennsylvania in February 2013.
EPPO Reporting Service (2019/212) : declared eradicated from USA in October 2019.
EPPO Reporting Service (2002/020) : still in Pennsylvania, but not found in surveys of New York and Michigan.
