Comments
EPPO Reporting Service (2000/131) : first report, on 3 nectarine trees at two sites in an orchard near Niagara, Ontario. Surveillance gave 681 positive samples out of 41346, from 30 different locations, 27 from Niagara peninsula, 1 from Simcoe and 2 from Blenheim. First findings were associated with trees from Pennsylvania (US), where PPV has recently been found, but later findings were not, so the origin of the infestation is not clear. Status is "Present: only in some areas in Ontario province, under eradication".
