EPPO Reporting Service (2011/042) : almond witches' broom occurs in the centre and southern parts of Iran (Emammieh, Chelvan and Najafabad). Phytoplasmas related to 'Ca. P. phoenicium' could be detected in diseased almond trees, as well as other phytoplasmas species.

EPPO Reporting Service (2016/143) : wild almond (Prunus scoparia) might serve as a natural reservoir.

EPPO Reporting Service (2018/114) : found during surveys on phytoplasmas conducted from 2013 to 2015 in vineyards (Vitis vinifera) in the provinces of Qazvin, Lorestan and Markazi.

EPPO Reporting Service (2019/027) : found on symptomatic apricot trees (Prunus armeniaca) in Fars province.

found in apricot and peach orchards in seven provinces in Iran in 2012-2017.
