Absence is confirmed by a survey carried out in 2002 in England, Wales and Scotland. It is considered as 'Absent, no record for Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey and Northern Ireland.
Since 2002, no official surveys have specifically been conducted on M. fructicola, but all suspect samples are tested and so far the fungus has never been detected on UK material.
