EPPO Reporting Service (2007/102) : one locality in Corse.
EPPO Reporting Service (2009/205) : with a very limited distribution in the South of France (Provence and Languedoc), and still casual.
From NPPO (2011), under eradication in Corse.
From NPPO (2018): only in Corse in private ponds and constructed wetlands in 1 locality where eradication measures are being implemented. In the natural environment, E. crassipes had been observed only once in 1 locality and following eradication measures, the plant was no longer found at this time.
According to personal communication with G. Fried (2021): At least one population can be considered as naturalized in Corse. In continental France, only casual populations are recorded in Western France (F. Dortel, 2021) South-West of France (A. Caillon & J. Dao, 2021) and in the Mediterranean region (C. Cottaz, 2021), with regular surveillance to check it does not become established.
