EPPO Reporting Service (2004/104) : first report, in Queretaro state.

EPPO Reporting Service (2008/119) : first report in June 2008, in Baja California, in the urban area of Tijuana. At that time, huanglongbing was not detected.

In 2009, huanglongbing was detected in Mexico, first in samples of D. citri and then in urban citrus trees (see distribution of 'Ca. L. asiaticus').

According to Pérez-Valencia et al. (2019), D. citri was first recorded in 2001 in Tamaulipas. In 2002, it was found in Yucatan peninsula (Campeche, Quintana Roo), and by 2013 it had spread across most of the commercial citrus orchards in Mexico.
