First found in October 2009 in a yellow sticky trap located in a residential citrus tree in the town of San Luis (Yuma county). Under eradication.

In 2012, the regulated area was expanded to include new section in the counties of La Paz and Mohave (Stocks, 2012). In 2017, the regulated area is further expanded to include all counties.
