EPPO Reporting Service (1996/26) : latest record in November 1995.

EPPO Reporting Service (1998/35) : found again in Los Angeles county in 1997-08. Quarantine measures applied.

EPPO Reporting Service (2001/012) : low numbers found in 2000, not triggering action.

EPPO Reporting Service (2002/020) : 33 adults found in various locations in 2001 (Los Angeles, Orange, Santa Clara, San Diego, Contra Costa and San Bernardino counties). See also NAPPO Phytosanitary Alerts of 2001-08-06, 2001-09-04, 2001-09-07

- Several incursions of B. dorsalis took place in California from 2003 to 2010 but in August 2012, the NPPO officially declared the eradication of B. dorsalis from California and USA (presumably continental US territory - as nothing indicates that B. dorsalis no longer occurs in Hawaii).
- Detected again in July 2013 in parts of Orange county (9 larva, 92 adults) and of the Los Angeles county (19 adults), under eradication.
- In April 2014, quarantine was lifted in Orange and Los Angeles counties. In May 2014, the pest was declared eradicated from California.
- In June 2015, found in the Cupertino area of Santa Clara and in the Inglewood area of Los Angeles. Eradicated in 2016.
- In August 2017, 8 adult flies were found in Los Angeles. Eradicated in January 2018.
- In August 2018, 9 adult flies were found in Sacramento and Yolo counties. Under eradication.
- In September 2023, there are 2 quarantine zones in California: Contra Costa County and in Santa Clara County. Under eradication.
