Bactrocera dorsalis found again in California (US)
In August 1997, Bactrocera dorsalis (EPPO A1 quarantine pest) has been found again in Los Angeles county, in California (US). This fruit fly has repeatedly been found and eradicated in California (EPPO RS 96/026). Quarantine measdetailedures have been applied immediately to prevent any further spread of B. dorsalis not only on citrus, but also on other types of fruits, nuts and vegetables.
