An old record appears on the published CABI map for the pest. It goes back to 1931, and concerns a manual by a Czech author on crop diseases, which referred to ringrot. This was no doubt (mis)interpreted as a record for the country. The first confirmed record was then made in 1996.
EPPO Reporting Service (1996/186) : first officially confirmed record in 1996-05/06. Eradication measures applied.
EPPO Reporting Service (2001/138) : surveys since 1995 show that low levels of ringrot have been found in seed potatoes (0.24-1.14% of samples) every year till 1999. Percentages of positive samples of ware potatoes have varied from 7 to 11% in the same period.
NPPO (2024): during a detection survey an outbreak was found in a potato farm in the district of Olomouc (Olomouc Region). Delimiting survey and tracing ongoing. Under eradication.
