Comments
Plane tree mortality started in 1946-1950 in Marseille (Parc Borély) but the causal agent was only identified in 1974. The disease then spread in Southern France: Aquitaine, Corse (eradicated), Midi-Pyrénées, Languedoc-Rousillon, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Rhône-Alpes. Two isolated outbreaks in Northern France (Ile-de-France and Pays-de-la-Loire. Intensive surveys and eradication measures are continuing.

EPPO Reporting Service (1994/195) : only west part of Vaucluse severely affected. Incidence used to be high in Marseille, but strict eradication measures are now proving effective. Scattered foci in: Var, Alpes Maritimes, Hérault, Gard, Rhône, Ain, and Corse.

EPPO Reporting Service (2005/183) : three outbreaks in Midi-Pyrénées region (previously uninfested).

EPPO Reporting Service (2007/010) : three new sites in 2006, one in Tarn-et-Garonne (Midi-Pyrénées region, near earlier outbreaks), one in Savoie (Rhône-Alpes region), one in Loire (Rhône-Alpes region)

EPPO Reporting Service (2008/029) : present, scattered outbreaks (Aquitaine, Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi-Pyrénées, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Rhône-Alpes), under official control.

EPPO Reporting Service (2008/184) : found in Isère (Rhône-Alpes), intensive surveys are continuing.

EPPO Reporting Service (2019/188) : found in Pays-de-la-Loire and Ile-de-France regions.
