Comments
In July 2006, 1 adult beetle was caught on the foliage of an Acer palmatum plant in a nursery in central Switzerland (Aargau canton). Upon closer inspection a larva was excavated from the base of another plant. The trees were imported ornamental maples of approximately 2.5 m height. It seems that this incursion has not led to the establishement of the pest in Switzerland, but this still needs to be confirmed.

EPPO Reporting Service (2014/182) : 1 beetle incidentally found in a private garden in Sirnach (Thurgau canton). Further surveys did not find any other insect specimens or signs of the pest.

EPPO Reporting Service (2017/007) : the pest is no longer found in the Aargau canton (see above). In Sirnach (Thurgau canton), no further findings have been made but official measures are still in place before eradication can be declared.

EPPO Reporting Service (2020/004) : no signs of the pest found for 4 years in the canton of Thurgau despite intensive monitoring. Pest is now eradicated from the country.
