Records in this distribution relate to plant diseases caused by S. marcescens. Note that cucurbit yellow vine disease was previously thought to be caused by S. marcescens, but has been reallocated to S. ureilytica, and its distribution was transferred to S. ureilytica ('Absent, invalid records' below). S. marcescens is also an environmental bacterium, and causes human and animal diseases. These records are not listed below [2026-04]
