It remained confined for sometime in Northern Italy (Po valley), but in the 2000s it was also found in the South.
Recorded at least in Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardia, Marche, Trentino-Alto Adige, Toscana, Piemonte, Puglia, Umbria, Valle d'Aosta, Veneto.
EPPO Reporting Service (1998/096): included in an Italian list of introducted pests.
EPPO Reporting Service (1999/168) : first found in Toscana region (two vineyards in 1998).
EPPO Reporting Service (2005/033) : no longer confined to the Po valley. Also at least in Basilicata, Puglia, Calabria, Campania.
EPPO Reporting Service (2014/216) : caught for the first time in 2013 in Puglia.
