Abdurahman et al. (2019) Nationwide survey of potato crops and alternative hosts identified three phylotypes: R. solanacearum [phylotype IIB-1] (80%) on potato in Northern, Eastern and Western districts and on chilli pepper in Central district; R. pseudosolanacearum [phylotype I-31] (18.5%) in Central district on tomato, eggplant, sweet pepper, chilli, ginger, groundnut, nakati (Solanum aethiopicum), African nightshade, Sodom apple and previously reported on tobacco and eucalyptus; and R. pseudosolanacearum [phylotype III] (1.5%) on potato in Northern district.
