Pospiviroid fusituberis(PSTVD0)
Distribution details in Poland
First recorded in: 2016
Eradication in: 2022
Pest status declared by NPPO: Absent, pest eradicated (2022-03)
The other record (Gora et al., 1994) is also doubtful because the origin of the PSTVd isolates could not be traced back.
EPPO Reporting Service (2011/141) : results of official surveys for PSTVd conducted from 2002 to 2010 showed that the viroid is not present in Polish potato crops. During this period, 1133 samples were officially tested and all gave negative results.
Official surveys are also carried out on propagation material of tomato and ornamental Solanaceae. PSTVd was detected in 2 samples of imported Solanum jasminoides planting material.
EPPO Reporting Service (2014/048) : in 2 samples of Solanum jasminoides (1 collected in 2007/2008 from Zachodniopomorskie voivodeship - 1 collected in 2009 from the Lubuskie voivodeship).
The NPPO explained that the 2 positive cases reported in EPPO Reporting Service (2014/048) (based on Henning et al., 2013) were linked to old imports (in fact the same as those already reported in EPPO Reporting Service (2011/141) ) and that all infected plants had been destroyed. All annual official surveys for PTSVd (in ornamental Solanaceae and potato) have confirmed the absence of PSTVd in Poland (NPPO, 2014).
EPPO Reporting Service (2016/175) : first confirmed report. Detected in 2016 in 2 lots of seed potatoes (cvs. ‘Etola’ and ‘Denar’) in Melanowo (district of Kamień Krajeński, Kujawsko-pomorskie voivodeship), and Turzyn (district of Nakło, Kujawsko-pomorskie voivodeship).
EPPO Reporting Service (2022/068) : pest eradicated.
