EPPO Reporting Service (1997/187) : sweet cherry isolate PPV-C occurs in Bulgaria as well as the conventional strains (PPV-D and PPV-M).

EPPO Reporting Service (2007/124) : strains D and M.

According to Kamenova et al. (2011, 2014, 2017): 3 strains occur in Bulgaria (PPV-D, PPV-M and PPV-Rec). PPV-Rec is predominant on plum, while peach and apricot are mainly infected by PPV-M.
