'Candidatus Phytoplasma americanum' was described in 2006 and corresponds to the 16Sr group 16Sr XVIII-A (Lee et al., 2006; Bertaccini et al., 2019 and 2022; Wei et al., 2022). The reference further down does not relate to this species but to subgroup 16SrIII-M. No record mentioning presence of 'Ca. Phytoplasma americanum' in this territory was found (at 2026-01).
