EPPO Reporting Service (2005/072) : M. fructicola has never been reported from Italy and is believed to be absent from the whole country. Specific surveys have confirmed this for Emilia-Romagna region in 2003/2004.
EPPO Reporting Service (2009/091) : reported for the first time in 2009, in 2 nectarine orchards at Lagnasco (Cuneo province, Piemonte region).
EPPO Reporting Service (2010/153) : found for the first time in Emilia-Romagna on nectarine orchards. Under official control.
EPPO Reporting Service (2014/034) : detected in January 2012 in stored apples (M. domestica cvs. ‘Gala’ and ‘Pink Lady’) in Emilia-Romagna.
Also present in Southern Italy (Abate et al., 2018).
