Distribution details in India

Situation
Current pest situation evaluated by EPPO on the basis of information dated 2019: Present, restricted distribution
Comments
The presence of M. medusae in India was so far only based on presentation at a conference by Bagyanarayana G (1998), which is not available. Sharma et al. (2005) only list Melampsora ciliata, M. populnea, M; larici-populina and M. populina. The report of M. medusae is therefore considered unreliable.
In 2019 Gautam & Avasthi reported M. medusae from Himachal Pradesh.
