Absence was confirmed by official surveys conducted in 2011 and 2012.

EPPO Reporting Service (2014/189) : first outbreak detected in September 2014 on a few pear trees (Pyrus communis) in a commercial orchard located in the Åland islands. Under eradication.

From NPPO (2018-02): all samples tested negative during the 2016 and 2017 surveys. The single outbreak of 2014 (see above) remains under eradication.

From NPPO (2018-09 & 2018-10): Absent from continental Finland (protected zone), based on yearly surveys carried out in the protected zone (including inspections in orchards, nurseries, garden centers, greeneries and private gardens). On the islands of Ahvenanmaa (Åland - autonomous province located approximately 100 km southwest from the mainland): one finding was made in pear production in 2014. As yearly surveys have been carried out and no findings have been made, the disease is now considered as absent.
