Pest status declared by NPPO: Transient, under eradication (2018-06)
Comments
From NPPO (2018): found in private ponds and constructed wetlands in 1 locality where eradication measures are being implemented. In the natural environment, E. crassipes had been observed only once in 1 locality and following eradication measures, the plant was no longer found at this time.

According to personal communication with G. Fried and Y. Petit (2021): At least one population can be considered as naturalized in Figari (first record in 2007, still present in 2020). Management actions have been taken in 2020 and it will be checked in 2021. Other populations have not been confirmed (no more present) and two other have been found recently (Ajaccio in a basin, Cargèse in a private ornamental pool) and will be managed.
