EPPO Reporting Service (2000/093) : a record for Peru was included in PQR on the basis of CABI disease map no 20, which cites Bazan de Segura C (1959) Principales enfermedades de las plantas en el Perú. This was confirmed by a further paper: Bazan de Segura (1968) Problemas fitopatologicos de la papa en America Latina. Fitotecnia Latinoamericana 5, 7-36. However, it has subsequently been accepted that these records were erroneous, and based on confusion with Ralstonia solanacearum. The status of ring rot in Peru is thus: absent: pest records invalid (records officially declared erroneous by the Peruvian NPPO).
