Comments
Found in summer and autumn in traps in Vienna and occasionally in other regions, particularly in vicinity to fruit markets. No evidence that C. capitata survives winter temperatures in Austria. It is likely that findings are due to trade of infested fruit from countries where C. capitata is present.

In the 1990s: a few unconfirmed infestation sites in small private gardens in the southern part of Vienna in 1990/1991. According to EPPO Reporting Service (1993/61) , an interception in 1993-02 on oranges from Spain.

EPPO Reporting Service (2012/026) : detected on peach near Vienna in a private garden. Infested fruit was destroyed and peach trees treated. NPPO considers it as transient.
