During the 2013 annual monitoring programme, several Bursaphelenchus species (B. abietinus, B. fraudulentus, B. fuchsi, B. hofmanni, B. poligraphi, B. willibaldi) were found but not B. xylophilus.
Absence confirmed during further studies conducted from 2015 to 2017 in 6 counties (Brașov, Dâmbovița, Hunedoara, Sibiu, Suceava and Timiș).
