EPPO Reporting Service (514/13), of 1991-08-01.

EPPO Reporting Service (1996/208) : present in region of Busan (southeast of the country opposite Japanese island of Kyushu).

EPPO Reporting Service (1999/102) : continuing to spread northwards.

According to Cho et al. (2018): first found in 1988 in Busan, then in Pinus koraiensis forests of Gwangju (Gyeonggi-do) in December 2006. In 2007/2008, it was found in Wonju, Chuncheon, Namyangju, Pocheon, Sangju, Sancheong and Seoul. It is estimated that it has damaged 7800 ha of P. densiflora and P. koraiensis forests.
