Notes

A. esculentus is known only as a cultivated plant. It probably originated in southern Asia, from where it was taken in ancient times to West Africa, and post-Columbus, to America. In Eurasia, it is cultivated at least in the area of Russia, Black Sea, Caucasus and Central Asia
