Notes

Central and South America, Caribbean. Cultivated for its edible tubers, and introduced into West Africa and Pacific countries. X. sagittifolium is propagated vegetatively and numerous cultivars exist, some of which may be of hybrid origin. Accordingly, the name is frequently used to cover all cultivated xanthosomas with edible tubers
