Records prior Wu et al. (2021) were based on a misunderstanding of Anon. (1978) which does not refer to Xanthomonas fragariae but to Phytophthora fragariae (per. com., 2020-09).
EPPO Reporting Service (2021/111) : first observed in 2017 in several strawberry cultivars. The identity of the bacterium has been confirmed by molecular and pathogenicity tests.
