First detected in 1995 in Algarve, and in 2008 in Alentejo.

EPPO Reporting Service (1996/112) : first report on tomato in Algarve region of southern Portugal, associated with Bemisia tabaci, also found for first time.

EPPO Reporting Service (2001/062) & EPPO Reporting Service (2002/129) : the virus present is TYLCV.

EPPO Reporting Service (2008/229) : also detected in tomato samples from Alentejo.
