First found in autumn 2014 in several municipalities of Campania region (in Naples and neighboring municipalities), infesting Pinus pinea in urban environments.
From NPPO (2018): also found in 2018, in the city of Roma (Lazio) on Pinus pinea.
EPPO Reporting Service (2021/082) : along the coast from Caserta to Salerno causing serious damage.
