According to the NPPO of Argentina, previous records were based on old papers or referred to in vitro trials. T. controversa has not been found in the wheat-growing regions of Argentina in more than 30 years of surveys conducted by Instituto Fitotécnico Santa Catalina. In addition, the environmental conditions in Argentina are not suitable for the establishment of the pathogen.
