Comments
Initially described as Phoma andina var. chrystalliniformis in Colombia, causing leaf spot diseases on tomato and potato plants. It was then considered as a separate species (Stagonosporopsis crystalliniformis).
In Venezuela, it was isolated from a sample of potato (Solanum tuberosum subsp. andigenum) composed of leaves showing leaf spots and of necrotic stems. This sample was collected from Pico Aguilar, Mérida at an altitude of 3700 m in 1980.
