Introduced in Euromediterranean region, Russian Far East, Central Asia, Western Asia, Himalayas, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indochina, Malesia, China, Japan, Central Africa, Madagascar, USA, Mexico, Central America, Caribbean, South America (northwest, Brazil), New Zealand. Genome sequenced in 2009.
