Pest status declared by NPPO: Present: subject to official control. Present under containment at one botanical site only and is absent from agricultural and horticultural environments (2015-11)
EPPO Reporting Service (2012/071) : first found in May 2008 in 3 glasshouses of a botanical garden in the South of England. Phytosanitary measures could eradicate it in 2 glasshouses. In February 2012, the outbreak was still ongoing in 1 glasshouse. Eradication continues.
From NPPO (2015-11): eradication is continuing in one glasshouse (botanical site).
EPPO Reporting Service (2019/037) : a study on potential host plants was carried out in the infested glasshouse (Palm House, Kew Gardens). Many plants (40%) of the collections were found to be susceptible hosts. Eradication measures were applied in the Palm House, and the pest is currently no longer found.
