Comments
The bacterium was found in potato fields in the 1940s and early 1950s and successfully eradicated.

EPPO Reporting Service (1996/22) : new outbreak found in April/May 1995 in the centre-coastal region. Source was probably infected seed potatoes imported from Netherlands. Under eradication.

EPPO Reporting Service (1997/111) : measures maintained in outbreak area. Only one field found infested in 1996.

EPPO Reporting Service (2010/102) : biovar 1 strains were detected in some potato fields (Baixo Mondego region), under eradication.

EPPO Reporting Service (2017/172) : in 2016-2017, 4 outbreaks were detected in glasshouse roses (plants were asymptomatic). Under eradication.
